Women are natural leaders yet underrepresented in healthcare leadership. This 2-day course allows you to hone your personal and professional leadership skills in a group of peers for optimal education, networking and support. The course is designed to prepare women in dentistry to step into leadership roles by increasing self-awareness, enhancing mindset, and building critical skills. Women will be able to understand their leadership style and how to make it work for them. Grounded in research that has identified key factors leading to success for women leaders, the course is designed around three success factors: Confidence, Grit, and Resilience. We will help you understand these key areas of success, and develop and apply focused skills in each of these areas, enabling you to move forward as empowered and engaged leaders.

The Dr. Borna Meisami Commemorative Foundation has partnered with the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation on a research project looking at the oral health needs of racialized women who experience intimate partner violence. The goal of this study is to identify and examine the obstacles that racialized women face when seeking and using dental care services in Canada. The information from this study will be used to develop a stronger case to prioritize access to necessary dental care for IPV survivors in Ontario. Reach out to the study team if you are interested in joining or would like to know more about how to support this project.
