Restoring Strength
We are pleased to announce our new treatment program Restoring Strength. This program has been created to broaden the scope of services provided to residents of women’s shelters to include treatment of musculoskeletal conditions such as injuries to the upper and lower extremities, neck, back, or any orthopedic trauma.
As part of our Restoring Strength program, Dr. Borna Meisami Commemorative Foundation will be providing pro-bono treatment for individuals who are diagnosed with musculoskeletal conditions. We have partnered with physicians and practitioners such as orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, chiropractors, registered massage therapists, and acupuncturists that have been recruited specifically to provide these treatments. The services that are offered include rehabilitation and pain management services such as full-body physical, massage therapy, chiropractic therapy, shockwave therapy, acupuncture and laser therapy, and muscle and joint injections. Access to this form of care may not be financially feasible as it falls outside the Ministry of Health (MOH) coverage. For this reason, we have made it our goal to broaden the scope of donated healthcare services through instituting the Dr. Borna Meisami Commemorative Foundation’s Restoring Strength program to improve the lives of women who have survived gender-based violence.
